Christmas Eve/Day

Merry Christmas!

Particularly for those of you up north, we hope you all have a great day!

Last night we went to a Christmas Eve celebration, where the kids were in a nativity play. They seem to have no qualms about being on stage in front of hundreds of strangers (well, not all strangers...) and really enjoyed themselves. There was a shepherd, a wise man, and two little angels.
So far this morning there has been a few present openings, but we're spacing it out through what should be a relaxed Christmas Day. We'll spend some time 'visiting' grandma, like most Christmas, a little later on.
There has been a massive amount of rain here in the last day or two, particularly overnight. I haven't checked the fire sites yet, but I'm pretty sure they got some of it there as well.

A quick note to say "hi"

Hello to Pop & Nanna.......it's been a while since we've blogged ,but we are still here!

We are getting both the very hot, and very cold weather at the moment.

We can see your building on Google Earth (a computer program).

The clip below shows you some of what we've been up to lately: Carols in the Park, school, swimming, trampoline, adventures, and gearing up for Christmas!!

See you later.

Pre Christmas

The last week has FLOWN by.
It takes a while to wind down after term finishes, with lots of "little" things that add up to deal with. Jesse had a pleasant 1st birthday with some family over. He's getting bigger and even more vocal. It's amazing how with so little vocabulary he can make himself completely understood. I'm not sure if that due to our advanced intelligence, or his. Our 'Kids Celebration' was great with a very nice feel and over 430 people attending. It's over for another year, and now we get to really cruise into Christmas. Christmas Eve and Carols in the park are the 2 main gigs up next, with 300 and over 1000 expected to attend these.
We enjoyed doing some christmas shopping last Friday without the kids in tow, which was terrific and suprisingly easy (thanks Granny!!) I do still look forward to taking the boys to Chadstone or something for some late night christmas shopping though.
We went to see the new movie out called 'The Nativity Story' last night (the boys and me). It wasn't what they expected but they thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was great on many levels. It's not a Hollywood christmas story, that's for sure. It's more like seeing the bible happening before your eyes. Worth a watch, but not a little kids & family feel good story.
The big annual Fete last Saturday at St Marks was a relaxed kind of day, but we did manage to fit in little aths as well (see the footage below). Up here in the hills it's been both wet and dry, which means we're not so nervous about bushfires just yet. It is going to be a very hot and volatile summer though.
No formal holidays in sight at this point. But not much on in the way of work. Might have to find a hobby. Let's see.....trumpet, bike riding, hiking, canoing, blogging, website, catch up with some friends, do a city outing, do a country outing, a building project?......gardening, the beach....
